Collie Woodcraft is a small owner/operator business employing 2 family members.  I handle purchasing and production while Patrick, my faithful border collie, handles marketing and PR.  Patrick came to live with my wife and I just as I was retiring from a career as a wildland firefighter.  After spending the better part of three decades watching forests burn, I wanted to do something that paid tribute to the trees that provide us with so much.  Patrick also reminded me that he needed to go to work with me everyday. 
The inspiration for my nets come from a lifetime spent working outdoors and casting a fly rod.  I hold a deep appreciation for the dignity and tradition of flyfishing.  I find modern mass produced carbon fiber nets, replicated millions of times over, are an insult to the pursuit, not to mention the fish.  Why would anyone want to carry the same net as every other person on the water?
My nets are for people that have caught enough fish to know, the experience is as important as the fishing.
